Academics

Over the years, Lovell Camps has enjoyed a sustained, positive relationship with both families and staff. Much of the camp’s growth has been through word-of-mouth, leading to the arrival of new campers and counsellors every season, many of whom are friends or relatives of former attendees.

Several key elements contribute to the camp’s success: its family-like atmosphere, the chance to learn or practise English, French, and German, a well-structured and supervised , and the once-in-a-lifetime experience of staying in the Swiss Alps. The camp’s highly-qualified staff elevate the experience from good to great.

Prioritising the welfare and happiness of each child, the directors and counsellors at Lovell Camps strive to make the camp experience a time for fun, new friendships, skill development in sports, and educational enrichment. Here, children learn not just about the world and other cultures, but also about themselves.

Extracurriculars

At Lovell Camps, young individuals are provided with an opportunity to hone their language skills through an immersive English , with French also available as an optional language for study. The camp features a range of s that include swimming, hiking, and lessons in outdoor living skills and environmental education. Various sports and activities like tennis, golf, horseback riding, football, arts and crafts, music, cooking, mountain biking, and rock climbing are offered as interest groups. Campers have the flexibility to select two activities to focus on.

The camp also includes weekly excursions and special event days. Overnight camping trips and treks to Swiss Alpine Club huts afford campers the chance to apply their outdoor skills and heighten their environmental consciousness. Exposure to Swiss history and culture is facilitated through visits to local attractions and day trips to renowned destinations in the region. Additional activities encompass campfires, pool parties, visits to the Aquaparc, and discos.

Accommodation

Lovell Camps operates from the Mountain Lodge, a well-appointed facility situated in the rural region above the village of Schönried, offering an idyllic backdrop for a Swiss summer camp. The Mountain Lodge can house up to 60 boarding campers and their counsellors, with each room accommodating 2–6 campers and featuring a private bathroom and shower.

The lodge is equipped with a spacious dining area that boasts panoramic views, four classrooms, and two sizable multipurpose areas furnished with ping-pong and foosball tables, as well as a movie room. The exterior of the lodge features expansive gardens, a football field, basketball and volleyball courts, an archery range, treehouse, climbing tree, trampoline, slackline, and fire pit.
