Summary

Space Camp is an immersive six-day residential program where students aged 9–11 experience the excitement of space exploration through realistic astronaut training and STEM-focused learning. Based at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, the camp places children in team-based mission simulations, challenging them to solve problems and think critically like real NASA astronauts.

Participants build and launch rockets, explore life aboard the International Space Station, design Martian colonies, and train on authentic astronaut equipment including gravity simulators. It’s an unforgettable blend of adventure, education, and inspiration that ignites curiosity and confidence in young learners.

Academics

The academic component of Space Camp immerses students in hands-on STEM education, where they engage with real-world space science concepts through astronaut training simulations, mission planning, and interactive lessons on space hardware, engineering, and life in orbit. Designed to spark curiosity and build critical thinking, the curriculum supports 21st-century learning and introduces students to aerospace career pathways.

Extracurriculars

From rocket construction and launch, to challenge nights and aquatic simulations, students bond with peers while exploring the excitement of space through play, problem-solving, and adventure.

Accommodation

Participants stay for 5 nights in secure, camp-style dormitories on the U.S. Space & Rocket Center campus, with round-the-clock supervision, shared rooms by age and gender, and all meals provided in the on-site cafeteria.
