Summary

This summer course provides an immersive archaeological excavation experience at a site near Voula, connected to the ancient deme of Aixonidai Halai in Attica. It includes three main components: on-site excavation, classroom lectures, and lab work, offering practical fieldwork experience within a broader historical context. Led by CYA Professor John Karavas and supervised by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Piraeus and the Islands, the program also includes visits to nearby archaeological sites and museums.
