Acting Summer School for ages 16-17
An inspirational insight into contemporary and classical actor training working with professional directors and tutors on a project and practical workshops.
BYMT Camps are six-day residential stays in the UK providing playful, creative training in music theatre for keen performers aged 11-17. They are designed for young people looking to explore their potential and develop confidence in acting, singing, movement, writing and instrumental playing. Inspiring theatre professionals suggest a brand-new show and participants then develop the story with their ideas and in just a week a new musical is made, culminating in a sharing of scenes and songs on the final day. Participants receive a Grade 6 Certificate in Musical Theatre, accredited by MX, the prestigious Mountview Exams.
BYMT Camps are hosted in boarding schools and universities across the UK, with a Creative Team and Pastoral Team present at all times. A member of the BYMT office team is always on site at the beginning and end of a camp, with regular visits through the week.
Accommodation is onsite at a boarding school or university where the camp is based
British Youth Music Theatre (BYMT) is the largest commissioner of new musicals in the UK. We support 11-21 year olds by equipping them with the training and opportunities to step into their creative potential, develop their skills, and inspire their confidence.
