Beyond their academic, sporting and artistic endeavours, our focus is that pupils will feel secure and supported, comfortable, respected and safe in their environment. Our Charterhouse Young Learners Summer Course is an opportunity for young people to experience a UK boarding school environment, along with promoting learning in a fun, exciting and interactive way inside and outside the classroom. The boarding experience will bring about life skills, independence and help develop good manners. *Please note this is not an English as a foreign language course, but an academic programme where a B1+ level of English is a requirement.
Students will experience daily boarding school life whilst on campus. As an academically driven course students will study four core modules which include Language and Literature, Science, History and Geography. Four co-curricular lessons of Sport, Art, Drama and Music. The academic teaching staff are all experienced Prep-School teachers, experts in their field of teaching and with the age group that this course is aimed at.
The boarding house is the centre of life outside the classroom, and evening activities range from a Sports Day, BBQ evening, fashion show, treasure hunt around the campus and so much more. Whilst our excursions will take students to Arundel Castle, Portsmouth Dockyards and London along with a number of others.
The boarding house is the centre of life outside the classroom. Each house will have an experienced house parent and a team of house assistants who are there to provide pastoral care and support to pupils throughout the course. Each boarding house is single sex, accommodating either boys or girls.
