Summary

Design in Town is much more than a summer camp: it is an immersive experience for high school students that opens the doors to the world of design and creativity. In collaboration with three prestigious international universities (IED, USI, Accademia di Como Aldo Galli), it offers hands-on orientation in eight creative fields: architecture, fashion, design, photography, graphics and communication, video, creative writing, and illustration. The camp runs in 2- or 3-week modules, with intensive schedules where students work on real projects under the guidance of over a hundred internationally renowned professionals, including designers, photographers, directors, and architects. Since its first edition, Design in Town has received endorsements from major professional associations and awards such as the ADI Design Index 2016, and collaborates with leading cultural institutions like Triennale Milano and the Cologni and Castiglioni Foundations.

The 13th edition will take place in Troia, Puglia, from 8 June to 2 August 2026. Over twelve editions, 1,360 students from across Italy and abroad have participated. Online presentations are scheduled from October to December 2025, and numerous financial aid options are available. Students in their third and fourth year can also earn 80 or 120 hours of PCTO depending on the chosen residency. Design in Town provides a unique opportunity to explore creative disciplines, gain practical experience, and engage directly with the professional world of design.

More Information

Participants work on real-world projects side by side with professionals, experiencing days with a very intensive schedule.
Over the course of a week, each student completes two projects in two different disciplines with two different teachers. Six disciplines are explored in depth: graphic and visual communication, photography, video, design, architecture, and fashion.
Students have only three days to complete each project.
The day is structured with a certain level of discipline. Basic rules include attending the morning muscle warm-up and dinner sessions, submitting projects on time, and keeping common areas tidy.
