Fashions of Florence is a two-week precollege program designed to immerse students in the world of fashion through college level coursework, hands-on workshops, and curated visits to museums, fashion businesses and artisan studios. Held in Florence, Italy, a capital of art and design, the program blends classroom learning with real world exploration. Students attend 40 hours of courses at Polimoda, one of the world’s top fashion schools, and gain firsthand insights into fashion design, sustainability, and business while building their portfolios and discovering potential career paths. Beyond the classroom, participants experience Florence’s vibrant cultural scene through guided city tours, museum visits, and artisan encounters. The program includes a stay at the modern Social Hub Belfiore with 24/7 support from a resident advisor and program director. With a full schedule of classes, site visits, and social activities, students leave with a deeper understanding of the fashion industry, international experience, and a strong foundation for their future in fashion.
Students will have 40 non-credit hours of courses in Fashion Systems: Design and Business with classes in Fashion Sustainability, Intro to Fashion Design and Business, Building a Fashion Portfolio and more. Coursework takes a hands-on approach with practical experience including a class at Manifattura Tabacchi, the school’s cutting edge fashion design campus and culminating in a final project presented at the end of the program. In addition to coursework, the program will expose students to the fashion industry through visits to companies, workshops and museums. At the end of the program students will have a clear overview of the fashion industry and an idea of how to begin their journey in fashion.
Outside the classroom, students enjoy a rich extracurricular program that includes guided city walks, artisan tours, and visits to world-class fashion museums such as the Costume Museum at the Pitti Palace, the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum, and the renowned Uffizi Gallery. In the evenings, they take part in cultural events happening throughout the city during Firenze Estate, including live music, open-air films, and food festivals
Social Hub Lavagnini is a self-contained accommodation and entertainment complex that has an in-house restaurant, music room, pool table, ping pong tables, rooftop pool, world-class gym, free wifi and study spaces. Students will stay in modern air-conditioned twin or single rooms. The hotel has many indoor and outdoor spaces to indulge in everything from a quiet reading nook to a movie night.
