Academics

All language skills (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking and writing) are systematically trained. Attention is also paid to the active mastery of grammar. The teachers follow an internal curriculum that is adapted to the needs of each age group.

Because the lessons are activity-oriented, the students often have the opportunity to apply and practice the material taught both orally and in writing. Varied social and learning forms such as partner work, role-playing or presentations help to loosen up the lessons and create a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom.

Through cooperative learning and working methods, students are activated and have an above-average amount of speaking time in class and improve their active German skills step by step.

Extracurriculars

Every day we offer an attractive and varied activity program with sports, games or cultural events for the leisure time after class. Our staff will encourage and motivate students to participate in the activities. This leisure program is included in the tuition fees.

Every Saturday, our staff members organize and accompany full-day excursions to attractive destinations. Every Wednesday, our students will have half-day excursions to sights and interesting towns within the region. During the excursions, we try to combine a cultural program item such as an age-appropriate museum tour or city rally with free time so that the students have the opportunity to explore the city on their own.

The excursions and the entrance fees are already included in the course fee for kids and teeangers.

Accommodation

In all course locations the Humboldt-Institut offers a complete package including accommodation, full board and leisure program. The schools are organized like boarding schools, and the student rooms are usually located in the same building as the classrooms. This combination is very comfortable and offers short distances. In Lindenberg, our students can also stay with host families in July and August.
