The International Summer School for Teens (ISSFT) at the University of Stirling provides a dynamic and diverse summer experience for teenagers. This program uniquely integrates academic subjects with sports and creative activities, encouraging holistic development. Mornings are dedicated to academic enrichment, while afternoons offer elective sessions in sports or creative arts. Emphasizing fun, confidence-building, and global perspectives, ISSFT creates an inspiring and inclusive environment for learning and personal growth.
The academic core involves 39 hours of study in a selected subject; options ranging from language and literature to global leadership and entrepreneurship. Classes are collaborative, with a focus on student engagement, goal-setting, and reflection. Depending on proficiency, English courses focus either on language instruction or real-life communication skills.
Afternoon sessions are dedicated to skill development in the elective chosen by students. Offerings span sports like golf, tennis, soccer, and basketball to artistic ventures such as theatre and photography. Additionally, courses like coding and sports leadership allow for a diverse range of interests to be pursued. The experience is further enriched with evening activities and trips to exciting destinations.
Students are housed in single-occupancy rooms; the majority come with en-suite bathrooms. Round-the-clock supervision ensures student safety and well-being.
