The Sheffield International Summer School is designed for inbound students not currently registered on full degree programmes at the University of Sheffield. Whether you want to try out the University of Sheffield for future study or you simply want to have an amazing summer in the heart of the UK, the Sheffield International Summer School is for you. There are four subject pathways in the Sheffield International Summer School - covering Architecture and Landscape Architecture, History, Management and Engineering. Each course has been designed to explore key global issues and to develop the tools to tackle them, giving you the opportunity to develop a range of skills that you can use for your future studies and career.
Pathways include: Designing towards sustainable regeneration, People Power: Protest & Social Change in 20th Century Britain, Reflective leadership for successful teams, and Energy and the Environment.
We’ve planned an exciting variety of events to help you explore Sheffield and connect with your classmates, ensuring you make the most of your time outside the classroom. From sampling Sheffield’s vibrant food scene to uncovering the city's hidden treasures, there’s something for everyone!
Students joining our Summer School in 2026 will be staying at our Allen Court residence where all rooms are single occupancy with an en-suite shower room and a shared kitchen. Residents at Allen Court also have exclusive access to an on site gym, games room and movie room, and there's a friendly customer service team available to help if you need anything. Located in the heart of the city and only a few minutes walk away from the University of Sheffield campus, staying at Allen Court means you can explore the hidden spots and our bustling city centre and find out what makes Sheffield so great for students.
