The University of Oxford’s Department for Continuing Education Summer Program offers a rich educational experience for adults, combining rigorous academic courses with a vibrant cultural program. Participants, aged 18 and above, can choose from over 100 introductory one-week courses or delve into longer specialist topics across fields like literature, history, science, and business management. Taught by current Oxford academics, the program uses the Oxford model of teaching to foster deep engagement and critical thinking.

Ranked as the top university worldwide for 2024, Oxford provides attendees with the opportunity to live and study at one of its historic colleges, immersing them in the university’s heritage. Beyond study, there will be plenty of time to soak up all that the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Oxford has to to offer; its busy cultural and social scene comprises a wide variety of plays and shows, concerts, restaurants, films and exhibitions. There are also world-class museums such as The Ashmoleum and The Natural History Museum to explore, alongside fascinating architecture, and of course, the Oxford colleges themselves. A range of optional social events are available to attend, such as a quiz night, visit to historic pubs in Oxford, visit to Christ Church for Evensong and after-dinner talks and discussions. There’s also a welcome drinks reception and dinner on the first night as well as a formal gala dinner at the end of the programme.
