International Sustainability Summer School at UCD

Summary

This two-week summer school invites students from around the world to collaborate with Irish peers, businesses, and community stakeholders to address sustainability challenges in Ireland. Participants will develop key skills such as systems thinking and collaboration while examining solutions for real-world climate challenges. They will also work in multidisciplinary teams to address Ireland’s specific environmental and sustainability challenges. Upon completion, students earn 5 ECTS credits; participants should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.

Program Features

  • Understand Systems Thinking – how to see the bigger picture of the interconnected factors that influence human activity and its place in space
  • Engage in Critical Analysis – how to see a problem from different perspectives, and how to collate and interpret evidence to find solutions
  • Learn to Collaborate – how to work in multi-disciplinary, international teams to solve real-world problems
  • Develop skills in Innovation – the process of developing an idea from germination to fruition in a real-world, business setting.

  • The program fee includes tuition, accommodation, meals, cultural activities, and transport within Ireland
