Calder Classics invites high school students to join the Rome: Reading Latin + Ancient History program, offering a unique ten-day experience where the study of Latin and ancient history is enhanced by the exploration of Rome’s historical and cultural landmarks. Students will live in a centrally located apartment, immersing themselves in both the language and the daily life of Italy.
The academic focus is on mastering Latin grammar and literature, with interactive sessions that encourage analysis of rhetorical devices, meter, and intertextuality in classical texts; Students will leave with improved reading skills and a deeper understanding of the classical world.
Students will stay in a spacious apartment located in the Via Volturno neighborhood of Rome, offering modern amenities such as air conditioning and WiFi; The apartment is close to major ancient sites and provides a comfortable base for both study and leisure.
