Academics

Stanford Summer Session courses are known for being academically challenging and suitable for ambitious and high-achieving individuals. Courses for undergraduates, graduates, high school and gap year students are offered from 30 different departments, all of which carry Stanford University credit that can be used for your home institution. Teachers are current academics of Stanford University. On every course, students are encouraged to take their learning beyond the classroom on educational field trips, and to take advantage of Stanford’s superb campus by touring its museums – such as the Cantor Arts Center – and getting to know the unique community of companies and innovators that gather at Stanford Research Park. ‘Stanford Voices’ are small gatherings that provide students with an opportunity to connect with Stanford faculty, fellows and alumni to hear about their work and career pathways, and a variety of educational workshops run on topics such as how best to prepare for college and how to build your own professional network.

Extracurriculars

Dances, talent shows and community gatherings provide ample opportunities to make new friends and experience authentic student life. You’ll be able to attend campus cultural and sports events such as a San Jose Earthquakes game or a concert at the Frost Amphitheater. Excursions include day trips to San Francisco, Great America Amusement Park, or a trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
