Academics

Summer Springboard’s Oxford programme is, quite literally, a springboard for university life and beyond. Its courses are focused on preparing students for top universities in the UK and further afield – such as The University of Oxford – both academically and personally: there are over 60 different courses split into six academic ‘tracks’ available to choose from, all of which are taught by industry experts. You’ll be able to learn law from someone who has argued before the Supreme Court or write creatively under the guidance of a published author. Summer Springboard are passionate about delivering dynamic, hands-on learning both in and outside of the classroom. There are plenty of subject matter-specific field trips that leverage all that the deeply academic city of Oxford has to offer, as well as skills workshops and fascinating guest speaker events (past speakers have been from Google, Bloomberg and the United Nations).

Extracurriculars

On Summer Springboard’s Oxford programme, you’ll be kept busy with a plethora of of extracurricular activities and educational field trips, including tours of various different Oxford colleges. You’ll get to immerse yourself in the local culture and visit the must-visit attractions and historic landmarks in Oxford as well as further afield on two full-day excursions with your new friends. You’ll experience iconic London and visit Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, take a cruise down the River Thames and have dinner in Covent Garden. The following day, you’ll find out how Cambridge compares to Oxford! You’ll visit Cambridge’s famous colleges as well as King’s College Chapel, the Corpus Clock, and walk across the Mathematical bridge. There are different and creative activities, games and social events on offer every evening.

Accommodation

Students will live and study at St. Stephen’s House. Founded in 1876, this prestigious Oxford University college and former monastery is located in a peaceful residential area just a 15-minute walk from the city centre and across the street from the University of Oxford’s Athletics Centre. A quintessential English college, St Stephen includes dorm room accommodation made up of mostly single rooms with a few twins. All rooms have a sink and some rooms have an en-suite bath, but the majority have shared bathrooms. Residential staff live amongst students and provide 24-hour security and care.
