Summary

Students from around the world will engage in an intensive week focused on navigating the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) world of leadership in an interconnected world. This program emphasizes the importance of authentic leadership and seeks to explore how culture shapes leadership and interpersonal interaction. Thus, a focus on multi-cultural communication theories, put directly into practice, is also part of the summer school. Participants will explore the essence of self-leadership and develop intercultural communication skills, enhancing their emotional intelligence. Hands-on workshops, interactive lectures, and a company visit will provide practical insights into effective leadership practices. Each participant will embark on a personal development journey, reflecting on their values and leadership aspirations.

Academics

The teaching program of the SummerSchool “International Leaders” is free for students. It is part of the Internationalization at Home Strategy of the University. This means, at least four students from our German University will take part and thus have the opportunity to make an international experience at home without travelling. Students from partner universities will be preferred, but there are usually enough places for freemovers. You cannot participate if you are not enrolled in a university. You are responsible to cover your living and travelling costs. There may be Erasmus grants available (PROMOS) from your home University – please contact your hometown international office.

Extracurriculars

Social visit such as city rally

Accommodation

No housing, students need to make travel arrangements on their own. Youth hostels in Wiesbaden and Mainz, Germany, are very close.
